Art Brut Contest: Tell LAist About Moving to LA

Art Brut at Sea Level Records

One of the more interesting bands to come out over the last few years is the British group Art Brut whose college radio hit "Moving to LA" is reason enough love this band. In a few months the group, pictured, above, at Sea Level Records, will come out with their sophomore album.

But before they do we have some autographed posters to give away and some cd samplers of the new album, It's a Bit Complicated.

All you have to do is tell us something that you remember about moving to LA. And if you've lived here all your life tell us why you never moved away.

Deadline for this contest is 6/6 so make it happen! Write your memory in the comments below and make sure you include your real email address so we can contact you if you win.

I never left LA because it is the city where people come to follow their passions and make their dreams come true. I could pursue any dream that I want as well... whether it'd be in music, art, dancing, acting, etc etc... plus the weather's great.

I never left LA because this is the city where people get stuck in the mire of smog, cement and bad attitudes. Actually, I did leave for a few years, but LA pulls you back like a sinister undertow, filled with the bobbing bodies of screenwriters and starlets. plus ... the weather's great.
