When I start seeing Noam Chomsky and Howard Zinn as much as I see Pat Buchanan and Pat Robertson, we can start talking about the left wing media.

Drudge is definately a large bit of balance for the Right where there is an obvious majority of otherwise Left swinging media and news reporting agencies. Intelligent folks know he's not a news site.. he's a blog and he's slanted. So what? CNN.com is really a flashier, better funded Drudge anyway with goals and talking points of it's own (think HillBill).

And what's with still adding '-gate' to the end of every supposed scandal? That 35-year-old monicker has long passed it's prime, I think.

the truly sad thing is that this whole Gonzales nonsense is just going to get strung out forever, nothing will happen. It will be January 2009 and some new incoming president will be staring a progressively more f'd up nation in the fangs. As it is -- the temporarily appointed district attorneys have already been at their positions LONGER than the 120 days allowed by law.

So maybe looking towards 2009 is more productive than focusing on a situation that is miserable and embarassing for everyone -- neither Bush, nor Cheney, nor Rove, nor Gonzales are going away before 1.20.09 and you better believe they're counting down the days.

I just wouldn't blame Drudge -- dude doesn't deserve 1/10th of the attention he gets.

But this is nothing new. He often (usually?) ignores anything that makes the elephants look bad. And the converse is equally true. His headline after the first Democratic debate wasn't about what was said, but "No one pooled, no one took commercial flights to save money, fuel or emissions".

He's a tool and proud of it.

The truly pernicious aspect of this is how the mainstream media, from CNN to NPR to the LA Times, and beyond, often seem to use his headlines to determine what's newsworthy. CNN is particularly bad at this.

They are tools, but won't cop to it.

Matt Drudge is a damn fool. I tried listening to him one night. It may have been a repeat or something. Goodness gracious. Typical extremist: will not, despite what is said, give up his opinion. Why are Americans taught that hard-headedness is a virtue?

That Pat Robertson bit along with Monica Goodling is ten times better. And yet, the Democrats can't get their tail out from under their legs and truly embarass a president who deserves to be impeached. It makes me, as an educated person, wholly sick to see the people who are put in powerful positions in this country. What it tells me is my education doesn't mean shit because I didn't get on my knees for some preacher in my Pentecostal church or I didn't join the local Republican club and forsake my thoughts on Republicanism in favor of some faith-based mantra that has unfortunately come to rule this great country. If this doesn't piss you off enough, perhaps you should look into Imperial Life in the Emerald City. Long live the meritocracy.
