Best Ad of the Week: Old Spice, Ahoy

What do you get when you mix Bruce Campbell with Duran Duran? Hilarity of course, since mixing Campbell with just about anything will crack you up.

The actor teamed up with director Sam Raimi way back in 1978 in Within the Woods, the predecessor to The Evil Dead, which was the predecessor to The Evil Dead II, the movie that got them both famous.

While Raimi is busying himself with talking about what it was like writing and directing Spider-Man 3, Campbell is convincing us all to try out the new Old Spice, and to practice piano.

Advantage: Campbell.

I would like this better if it weren't such an unabashed rip-off of Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine....the definitive lounge interpreter of our time!

BTW...why no coverage of his recent amazing shows at The Derby?

That AXE-wannabe spray product is the most phallic-looking product not sold in an adult store I've ever seen.

richard cheese is fine

but hes far from the first white guy to cover 80s songs in a loungey way

hell Joe Piscipo was doing the same thing on SNL 20 years ago.

as for our coverage of Mr. Cheese, we listed at least one of his Derby shows in Tonight in Rock in LA.

I think credit must be given to The Circle Jerks for "When the Shit Hits the Fan" in Repo Man.

That is definitely one phallic-looking bottle. I wonder if the cologne sprays out of the top.
