Saw a link about this this on DCist and decided to chime in. I can't believe this is even an issue for a blog. Of course you should be covering the porn industry! Just be cool with the naughty pix and everything will be fine.

If this is the official vote, put me on the "Yes, cover it" side. NSFW images should be after the jump.. Living in Sin and some other entries (fake boobs, ass cracks, undie run coverage) pretty much set the bar for the limit of work-appropriate for me, and I work in a federal office- if I can get away with it, I think anyone probably can.

Agreed. Porn is such a huge part of LA subculture. I think tasteful and insightful coverage of the subject makes the it somewhat less taboo.

It's not like you'd have to show skin in order to cover the industry. As was mentioned, just learning about it would be interesting - considering how all the houses in those pornos look eerily familiar as if it's deja vu!

cover it, keep photos (maybe all photos, and not just the nsfw ones) behind a jump. i work with kids. i'd appreciate not having scantly clad women on my computer screen.

My guess is you'd probably lose some readership, as people would stay away from reading it at work. I, for one, would stop checking during the day. Not because I'm a prude, but because I need to pay the bills.

I AM AS WELL. It is a billion dollar industry with its base for its entire run in souther cali. whether we like it or not its a part of our society and those people are apart of s cali culture. everyone always sees the vivid bldg off the 101. but we should cover the cool stuff, like how to break in. pay rates for stars, all the cool info we want to know from the inside. condom rates, std rates, etc.

I'm fascinated by it, personally, and would definitely read that shit here. I do peruse Laist at work, but fortunately a little porn would never get me fired. I think as long as you put any NSFW stuff after the jump, it's all good.
