Griffith Park on Fire, Arson Suspect Captured

125 firefighters and five water-dropping helicopters are attacking a fire that is being fanned by 10 MPH winds.
Captain Antoine McKnight was on KCAL news a few minutes ago saying that approximately 30 acres have burned. The Griffith Park Zoo, the golf course, the observatory, the boys camp, the merry-go-round, the magnet school, the Gene Autry museum have all been evacuated.
Later when pushed by KCAL anchors, he pushed the estimate of damage to 30-50 acres.
Currently the 5 freeway is still open but we suggest you consider other routes depending on how this fire progresses as we get closer to rush hour.
This is being called a "brush fire" but there are trees, bushes, and brush that are aflame. It's a fire. No houses have been damaged yet, but it's a real fire.
An arson suspect with serious burns has been captured, officials say.
