You asked, in regards to the frequent rush hour service on the Orange Line:

If all bus lines in Los Angeles ran with such frequency, how many more people would use the system?

The reason the Orange Line has high frequency is because of the number of people who are already riding it. With Metro having a financial crisis, the way you get increased service is: Ride more often. Metro has a policy followed by most transit agencies in this country, which is to match the service level with the demand. No agency runs super-frequent service in hopes of attracting ridership. That financial model simply doesn't work, and often wastes resources that could be used for improving service on lines that have more ridership than the present service level can sustain.

Nice pipedream, but not practical.

Also, here's a tip for those of you who get off the bus at the Hollywood Way entrance to Bob Hope Airport:

I had never walked from the Hollywood Way entrance into the airport.

There is a stop, with shelter, just inside the airport entrance for the parking lot shuttles. They will pick up anyone from there, on their way in from the lots, and drop them off at the island in front of the terminals.

In fact, the last time I flew out of BHA, a shuttle driver saw me walking from the corner and actually stopped beside the shelter and waited for me to get to his bus. Beats walking, especially with luggage ...
