The order to disperse was given from Helicopters. The people were not leaving. Personally I think the police under-reacted. If a gang of people started throwing projectiles at "me and mine" for no apparent reason, I would have reacted in much the same way. I have NO DESIRE to see the United States of America to end up like the scenes you see on television in other countries where the police are repeatedly attacked and no one is safe.
Simple reasoning, you don't want the police to use physical force to disperse, then follow the police orders, follow the laws of the USA, and don't attack USA police officers.
Oh, I forgot, the marchers were pro illegal behavior in the first place. What do you expect except more law-breaking from law breakers? hmmmm

[1] LA-Refugee - yes unfortunately this is a pattern of behavior that seems to resurface every so often in varying degrees. It is no wonder that so many residents (particularly minority residents) distrust the police. Hopefully the ubiquity of video cameras these days will help keep them honest in this and future cases, which seem all but inevitable given the history of this city and its police department. ©

just an fyi to the protesters - don't try and block traffic during rush hour in la.

LAPD should use these techniques on those who run out of gas in the middle lane of the 10 freeway or do not use the accident investigation lanes (as opposed to stopping in the middle of freeway) during rush hour.

at least the immigrants had one or two USA flags this year.... that was a little absurd to see a flag from every latim american country and not one stars and stripes during last years festivities....

Haven't lived in LA for over a decade but for generations LAPD has been abusing its (usually minority) citizens. Remember Justice for Janitors? I do.
