The Dodgers Win It 2-1 (sound familiar?)

There is no better reason to call in sick to work than a Dodgers mid-week day game. So that's just what I did. To make the whole experience even better, the Dodgers won a close one to the joy of everyone except the 3 Arizona fans in the crowd. Ha ha, too bad for them, who's leading the division now, you Sedona wearing punks?

Hendrickson pitched a great game. Went 5 innings with 3 hits and no earned runs. Plus he was an NBA player for 4 seasons and the tallest Dodger ever. Since the game ended around 3:30, he still has time to run on over to Phoenix and help the Lakers out tonight.

Hendrickson tried to pick off Quentin, who decided to haul ass to second base. Nomar threw to Furcal and Quentin was out by a mile. Don't try that in our house, Arizona! We're too quick for you, you silly desert tortoises.

All You Can Eat Right Field Bleachers: not a popular lunch spot I guess.

It was a nice warm day out and people started taking off their clothes, for better or for worse. What can you do?

Martin was really, really mad about striking out. I couldn't hear what he was saying, but I assume it was something like "come on, God. Help a brotha' out!"

Furcal got on base by hitting the ball a million miles into the air so the center fielder apparently lost it in the sun. Juan Pierre hit him in and didn't commit any errors today! Hooray!

Then Furcal decided to go bowling with his batting helmet, and ended up with a spare.

Is there anything better than watching Vin Scully sing take me out to the ballgame? No.

And say adios to Mr. Belligerent here. He apparently had to leave early, maybe he had a business meeting or needed to get back to work. He missed the excitement of Saito's save. Will he learn his lesson? Probably not.
