ALO In-store Tonight in Long Beach!

People like to put us in a box. They like to categorize us. You can't can't put baby in a corner.

Just because we love gangsta rap and metal and punk and Gogol Bordello and Rage doesn't mean we don't have any love left for the soulful mellow gooves of bands like Animal Liberation Orchestra aka ALO.

In fact just the opposite, we love them and they're one of our new favorite bands.

Frisco natives who met while in school at UC Santa Barbara, their sound is warm and unpretentious and free of all that gloss that's normally added to prettyboy white guys trying to do r&b or soul. The SF Chron dubbed their sound "sex-music boogaloo" and we'd agree.

As they continue to tour around the country, tonight they will be playing at to support and autograph their new cd "Roses & Clover", which we highly recommend if sex-music boogaloo is something that you feel is important to your record collection. We definitely do.
