Welcome To The (Shiny Toy) Gun Show

LAist thought it was going to be a cool night just seeing Shiny Toy Guns at Avalon on Thursday, but it turned out to be much more.

Instead of making everybody wait through questionable opening acts, Billabong sponsored a charity fashion show called Design for Humanity. Minutes after swimsuit models pranced down the runway, roadies tore down the catwalk and STG rocked the house.

We saw a few drunk girls get tossed out, but what do you expect when they wouldn't stop dancing with cocktails over the A/V control boards? After STG was done, the DJ was playing good enough music that an impromptu dance party started on the main floor, where drinks could be spilled without any afterthought.
