Brad Penny allowed one run in seven innings to record his third win of the young season. Nomar Garciaparra had a home run and double to earn his two RBIs. Luis Gonzalez was 0-4 in his return to Arizona.
Red Sox 7, Angels 2 - The Angels were outscored 25-3 in the three game series against the BoSox. Boston tallied five runs before the first out and added another before the end of the first inning. The game, held on Boston's Patriot Day, was delayed due to rain. Sunday's game was rained out completely.
