Coachella 3-Day Passes Are Back on Sale

For all of you who gave up on Coachella because it sold out faster than you expected, your prayers have been answered - Three Day passes are back on sale for a very limited time.

While that's great news, it's hard to ignore the fact that it's also great news for Ticketmaster who has figured out a way to make $29 out of each ticket - without having to fuss with even printing the ticket out! That's $29 if you print it out. They get more if you have the nerve to want a real ticket delivered to you in a timely manner since the show is in just a few weeks.

How does this government allow Ticketmaster to continue this monopoly? And yes it is a monopoly because how else can you, the hard-working people, get these Coachella tickets today without using Ticketmaster and being shaken down for close to $30 for the privilege of paying $250+ for the three-day concert in Indio?

Sirius satellite radio wants to merge with XM and the government wants to investigate whether that would cause a monopoly (even though there are other, older, cheaper ways to hear radio), but how can they accuse them of a monopoly when Ticketmaster has a clear monopoly that allows a $5.05 (literally nickel-and-dimeing us) "Processing Charge" on top of the $21.45 "Convenience Charge" for a ticket that they charge you $2.50 to print out on your own computer!

We love the Arcade Fire, Bjork, Sonic Youth, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Gogol Bordello and all the rest, but seeing that extra $29 going to Ticketmassah is like getting a fly in our $250 soup.
