Arcade Fire Cancels Rest of European Tour

No offense to the local boys, but we are far more excited to check out the Arcade Fire on Saturday night of Coachella than the Chili Peppers. Which is why we're crossing our fingers that Win Butler, the lead singer and genius behind the Arcade Fire will have successful sinus surgery. Butler announced yesterday on the band's website that for three months he's been suffering from a sinus and bronchial infection and canceling the rest of their Euro tour and getting surgery has become a must.

The Arcade Fire have released one of the most anticipated and well received records of 2007. The Neon Bible, their sophomore effort in the wake of the downright holy Funeral, debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 a few weeks ago, just behind Biggie Smalls' Greatest Hits.

Their success is a glorious one as their music is rich, creative, and truly unique. Using violins, horns, accordions, various percussion instruments, and megaphones, the Canadian group simply have no peers. Even their live shows are a thing of beautiful madness.

In the clip above we see the group in January march into the foyer of Porchester Hall in London, following a show they had just finished. If Butler is not available to perform a little more than a month from now at Coachella, it would be a sad thing indeed.
