Dinosaur Jr. to play The Troubadour May 11-13

J Mascis, Lou Barlow and that other guy Murph, have announced their spring tour and it officially starts in West Hollywood on May 11. After a warm up show being billed "J Mascis and Friends" down in San Diego on the 10th, Dinosaur will roar at the Troubadour for three straight nights, for your ass.

Pre-sale tickets for members of the Dinosaur Jr. web site are available now. Hint: It's free and easy to sign up. Hint: Maybe you should do it now if you want in on that weekend of sweet tunes.

This comes as welcome news since '07 started off on the wrong foot, some would say, when the legendary guitarist known for his abrasive and beautiful solos jumped in bed with the biggest, lamest, most sweatshoppy sneaker company and created the ugliest shoe of all time. Seriously, vomit could only improve that thing.

We kid because we love. Old gray-haired J, now that Eddie Van Halen is rubbin shoulders with Britney, could be the best guitarist on the scene. And as far as songs go, was there ever a bad Dinosaur record?

Speaking of records, the trio will be on the road in support of their first recording in 19 years with the original members, Beyond, which drops May 1. So start getting excited.
