Box Office Roundup

Norbit
Despite decidedly mixed reviews the warriors of 300 mopped up the competition by grossing just over $70 million in the film's opening weekend. That's the third biggest R-rated opener EVER after The Matrix Reloaded and The Passion of the Christ.

But the real competition is seeing which of the four worst reviewed blockbusters in the top ten -- Wild Hogs, Ghost Rider, The Number 23 or Norbit, none of which managed a Meta Critic score of more than 35 -- will end up making the most dough. Wild Hogs dropped to second place but has earned approximately $68 million, while Ghost Rider fell to fourth place behind but has earned over $100 million since its release. The Number 23 and Norbit came in at sixth and seventh place, earning a grand total of about $20 million and $86 million respectively.

That's a helluva lotta money for what such crummy looking movies. But the people have spoken. And the people are never wrong. Not when it comes to money.

I personally contributed $48.00 to the 70 mill box office for 300 and I plan on contributing again next weekend.
