Time to Kick Chicago's Ass, Olympic Style

Gavin-shot1.jpg

We may have naysayed in the past, but it looks like the Olympic movement for LA is finally coming together -- with some help from the movie industry. Apparently, the 18-34 demographic is losing interest in the games -- so LA is committing to bringing it back, by presenting us with this video produced by Dave Stewart (of The Eurythmics) called Battle Olympia:

After the jump, a snippet of the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games' (SCCOG) three-and-a-half-minute film (produced by the Walt Disney Studios) featuring Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa showing California and Los Angeles leaders' support for the 2016 Olympic bid.

Apparently, more videos like this are to come. Stay tuned...

Let the flame wars commence!

Uh, I was born in LA, and I hope they get the games, but really, this video makes me not want to have the games in LA.

I stopped watching that half way through. wtf?

That didn't really make sense.

I'm from Chicago. I don't know what kind of videos we have (or even if we do) but I honestly don't know what I just watched? Seriously, what was this?

Uh, good luck LA?

Wow. That was hard to watch. Talk about missing the point of the Olympics. I'm in LA, but if this is the best the LA 2016 bid committee can do, let's hope they don't get a chance to embarrass themselves any further.

I don't see how this video would enhance anyone's interest in the Olympic Games, or give anyone a reason to give the Olympics to LA a third time.
