Wasn't This On South Park?

Beware of cropdusting.
An Iraqi national named Fadhel Maliki was detained this morning while trying to board a plane at Los Angeles International Airport. He is suspected of trying to smuggle metal objects hidden in his rectum. The hole truth is unknown at this time, but some details are starting to leak out.

Airport officials reacted swiftly, and there were no reports of any major backup for other travelers still at the airport. Passengers on the plane Maliki was attempting to board were briefly detained in Las Vegas while officials removed Maliki's checked bags from the bowels of the plane.

Reports are coming out that Maliki claimed that he had inserted magnets for "therapeutic" reasons. It is unclear at this time whether magnets can actually cure or cause explosive diarrhea, though one colloquial testimonial we found claimed the process can "cure ma-liki."

LAist will keep you updated as this story begins to move. If you are a current or ex-LAX official with a comment on how this might end up, we would love to hear from you.
