More Band Reunions in 2007

Tom Morello

The Police aren't the only band to reunite and tour in 2007, and though their twenty-three year hiatus is the longest of the bunch, there is much more nostalgia to be had....

Rage Against The Machine, everyone's favorite rightously angry band, is reuniting to close this year's Coachella festival, which, fingers crossed, will bring about a tour. All four members -- Zack De La Rocha, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk -- will appear together for the first time since 2000.

It looks like Eddie Van Halen and David Lee Roth have kissed and made up for now, or at least for forty shows (not yet announced) that they've announced for this summer. Subtract one Michael Anthony and add one Wolfgang Van Halen (Eddie's fifteen year old son) and you've got a Van Halen for the new millennium. Recent reports are saying the boys are on shaky ground these days, but we all know that with Van Halen things could change tomorrow...

With the news that Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin are recording a new album, Smashing Pumpkins fans can cheer up a little -- but only a little, since James Iha and D'arcy Wretsky aren't expected to surface. Accompanying the new recordings will be a summer tour, the first performances since their farewell gig in December 2000 at Metro in Chicago.

After a fifteen year break, the Phil Collins-fronted Genesis will reunite this Summer in Europe, with US dates to come -- sans Peter Gabriel and guitarist Steve Hackett. Their last tour was in 1992, and their official last performance was also in 1992, at Peter Gabriel's wedding.
