LAst Night's Actions: Clippers Carry On

The Clippers are playing cautiously after so many injuries this season.Clippers 96, Sonics 91 - One game after Shaun Livingston ruined his knee -- and possibly career -- the ailing Clippers pulled off their third consecutive victory. They spread the ball around with six players in double digits. Cory Maggette and Elton Brand led the way with 18 each, and Brand added a season high 7 assists. The line of the night went to an anonymous AP reporter who observed that "Chris Wilcox, a former Clippers first-round draft pick ... was traded to Seattle last February for snowboarding fan Vladimir Radmanovic." Vlad-Rad is on IR with injuries sustained while on a snowy winter vacation.

Olympics 2016, World Cup 2018 - Los Angeles is using Hollywood charm to bid for the Olympics in 2016 and already has some production plans. Two years after, we could also wind up with a few World Cup games if FIFA decides to play the world's largest sporting event in this region. The host country generally distributes the matches among several cities, and LA has experience after hosting the finals in 1994.

Elsewhere - Congress took a moment to commend the USC football team (PDF here) for winning the Rose Bowl. You know, since there's not anything else going on in Washington these days ... If you're going to dive in soccer, at least try to make it look real ... If you're into nasty sports injury videos, an SI blogger has a treat for you.
