Help Kids. Drink Beer.
Most great athletes do things to benefit charity. Sometimes their publicist makes them do it. Sometimes it's part of a league sanction for that silly little fight with the referee. Sometimes they just want to.
Here's something the philanthropic athlete in you will want to do -- drink beer for Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Larry & Cheech's 1st Annual Flip For The Kids is a tournament unlike any LA has ever seen. It'll have red cups, trash talk, and a warm fuzzy feeling caused by something other than the golden brew (if you're not familiar with the game, click here). Teams of four pay an entrance fee of $80 (that's $20 per person, if you're already a few practice rounds deep), and spectators can sneak in for just $5. Tournament beer is included in the fee and additional drinks are just $2. Unlike most Hollywood events, proceeds will go to benefit kids in need -- not the owner's girlfriend's plastic surgery fund.
Flip off is at 4:00pm on Saturday, March 3 at Jimmy's Lounge (formerly El Centro, 6202 Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood). If you'd like to participate or donate (cash or raffle prizes are welcomed), email flipcup07@hotmail.com ASAP.
