Lakers 122, Celtics 96 - Oh what a relief it is! The Lakers snapped their six game slide against the woeful Boston Celtics. Kobe showed why he earned the All Star MVP award last weekend by scoring 22 points -- in the first quarter. Phil Jackson, who just suffered the longest loosing streak of his career, only played Kobe for 31 minutes so his 38 points, 9 assists, and 5 steals seemed nearly mundane. In truth, the whole team was pumped up to bury an old rival and put the team back on track for the post season.
Stars 4, Ducks 1 - Hockey teams often ride the success of a hot goalie, but it's rare to accomplish that by platoon. That's what Dallas is doing, depending on the netminding of veteran Marty Turco and rookie Mike Smith. On Friday Smith stopped 24 of 25 shots, helping the Stars close in on the Ducks in the Pacific Division. Anaheim now leads San Jose by three points and Dallas by five.
Elsewhere - The real reason Scottie doesn't want you to know ... FOX Sports was bored, so they passed the time by counting up our championships ... Is this karma, luck, or just eerie?
