Quinn Baumberger is about to accomplish the unbelievable. He's about to finish a journey from the top of Alaska to the bottom of Argentina via bicycle.
He's fought weather, food that made him sick, injury, loneliness, and theft during his near 20,000 mile trek. Even his dad didn't believe he'd make it past Southern California.
His father, Brad, joined him on the first 1,400 miles, a 28-day stretch from the northern coast of Alaska to the Yukon Territory. When they parted, the elder Baumberger had doubts that Quinn would make it.Quinn said that he took this ride to bring attention and raise money to fight Macular Degeneration, the #1 cause of blindness for people over 55. His website provides information on the disease and how to donate to fight it."There were doubts in his voice," Brad Baumberger said. "I had a feeling that once he got close to Mammoth Lakes, California, and his friends, he would stop and push it off to the back burner."
Each day on the road, however, became motivation for the next. - JS Online
His blog is pretty damn good too.

My friends made that trip recently.
You can read about their travels. Just google Spinning Southward.
It's a long trip. Basically the equivalent of riding your bike from Alaska to Argentina.
A real man would unicycle that trip
