LAst Night's Action: Ducks Try To Take Local Crown

A real fight for local supremacy.Ducks 3, Kings 2, SO - With both local teams struggling lately, Los Angeles and Anaheim opened a weekend home-and-home series at Staples Center. The Kings tied it up with about five minutes to play, and neither team could score in overtime. The Ducks, with one of the best records in hockey, skated away with a shootout win over the Kings, with one of the worst. The scrappy rivalry featured 56 penalty minutes issued in the first period. Anaheim leads the season series 4-1.

Bruins 81, Wildcats 66 - #7 UCLA easily handled #24 Arizona, leading for pretty much the entire game. The Bruins have won five straight against the Wildcats and remain atop the Pac 10, one game ahead of Washington State and 2.5 games ahead of USC.

NBA All Star Weekend - Dwayne Wade beat Kobe Bryant in the final round of the NBA Skills Challenge ... Reggie Bush hurt his ankle playing in the celebrity game.

Elsewhere - Finally, a way to beat the LA commute ... Pitchers and catchers have reported and are ready to play under new rules ... Auto racing fans like to drink. A lot.
