Hey You Got Listeria in my Oscar Mayer Louis Rich Chicken Breast Strips with Rib Meat

louis rich and oscar mayer chicken recall We've seen issues with spinach, Taco Bell lettuce, and most recently peanut butter, and now there is a recall on a product that is stamped ok for the South Beach Diet.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said today that Carolina Culinary Food is recalling packages of Oscar Mayer ready-to-eat chicken breast strips with rib meat as well as the same packages branded "Louis Rich" because Georgia Department of Agriculture food scientists found Listeria monocytogenes in some samples.

The nationwide recall affects all six-ounce packages of ''Oscar Mayer/Louis Rich chicken breast strips with rib meat, grilled, fully cooked, ready to eat'' that bear the establishment number ''P-19676'' inside the USDA mark of inspection on the front of the package. On the back of each package is a ''Use by'' date of ''19 Apr 2007.''

Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea. Listeriosis can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, as well as serious and sometimes fatal infections to infants, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. - AP

Meanwhile tell your friends and relatives on the east coast to stay away from Dole's cantaloupes as some samples have contained Salmonella and now thousands of cartons are being recalled.
