Valley Geography According to LA.com

The Valley is like, only, 48.4% of Los Angeles (225 square miles of the City's 465 square miles make up the San Fernando Valley). Without trying to cause another East-West war, which gets people fired up (see comments), we're going to set one easy Valley rule here: the 405 divides East from West Valley.
Funny enough, LA.com's home base and parent company is the same as the Valley's unofficial newspaper -- LA Daily News. With so many Valley experts on the team, wouldn't someone pop by to say you can't label restaurants in Encino with "East Valley" when you label Sherman Oaks as "West Valley."
Did you know that Studio City's Pinkberry is in the West Valley too?
apologies to Google Maps

Zach, clearly, like all eastside/westside debates, "east" and "west" can't be limited by mere geography. East and West are states of mind.
