LAst Night's Action: No Love for LA

Sing it with me now ... Y-M-C-A!Knicks 107, Lakers 106 - With time running out, the Lakers employed a brand new strategy against New York. Unofficially dubbed the "Let's not pass it to Kobe" play, Lamar Odom fired up an air ball as the clock ran out. So much for that idea. 7.1 seconds earlier, Eddy Curry slammed home the go-ahead dunk and propelled the Knicks to their 23rd win of the year -- matching last year's total with 30 games left on the schedule.

Hurricanes 2, Kings 1 - Los Angeles eeked out just 10 shots in the first two periods compared to 24 for Carolina. They added 12 more in the third, but none found their target. The Kings have dropped 13 of their last 16 games. The bench got slapped with a penalty for abusive language during the game. The way things are going, who could blame them?

Avalanche 2, Ducks 0 - The Avalanche buried the Ducks in Colorado. The second straight shutout extended Los Angeles' streak to 139:16 without finding the net. Both squads have been struggling in recent games, but the pressure is really rising for the Ducks who are now just one point ahead of San Jose in the Pacific Division.

WTF Moment Of The Day - Charlie Weis sues over gastric bypass surgery. No, not because it didn't work. Because he almost bled to death.

Elsewhere - Some doubt Pete Carroll will go to the Chargers ... Gonzaga knows how to party ... Reggie Bush plays the field, because that's what football players really care about ... Sometimes the 12th man really makes a difference. Or is that 6th man, in this case? 6.5th man?
