LAst Night's Action: Fat Men = LA Kryptonite

Pistons 92, Clippers 74 - The Clippers just want to go home. They wrapped a 7 game road trip with their fifth loss, this one at the hands of a rejuvinated Detroit squad. The Pistons are 11-2 since signing local college star Chris Webber, who had a game-high 19 points and nine rebounds in the game. Los Angeles shot just .324 from the field and was led by Cuttino Mobley with 17. The Clippers haven't played at home since late January and will return to Staples on Wednesday to face Atlanta. That will begin a five game home stand to close the month, featuring plenty of down time.

Beckham Watch - Still looking to play more soccer back home, Beckham is setting up a charity match at his old stomping grounds. His new stomping grounds recently hosted over 800 wannabe' soccer players trying out for the Galaxy. Thanks to an entrance fee, the club netted $100,000 which they can put towards the quarter of a billion they've promised Becks. Not surprisingly, most of the people who tried out were an embarrassment to the team. General Manager Alexi Lalas noted that several had spare tires and many were overweight and out of shape.

Elsewhere San Diego Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer was fired after a 14-2 season. Since signing day is over for USC, there's rumor this may have been timed for Pete Carroll to jump back to the NFL ... Baseball player living with porn star ... Both UCLA and USC hoops fell in the rankings released today. The Bruins were 5 in the AP and 7 in ESPN/USA Today. The Trojans were 22 and 23. Why the drop? USC lost to UCLA, and UCLA lost to a team whose cheering section was led by this fat guy ... Duke was out of the top 25 for the first time. Ever.
