The Police Announce Their Tour Dates - Sorta

Sting at the Grammys For a band that waited 20 years to get back together, and for a band that knew that they were going to announce their reunion tour today at the Whisky, they sure didn't have many tour dates lined up.

The Police are arguably the most anticipated reunion tour in recent memory. Only a Pink Floyd reunion, one would think, could eclipse this summer's tour but when it came time for the Police to cough up the dates, they came a little short, if you ask LAist, with just a little over a dozen dates, and none in LA!

Vancouver GM Place - May 28
Seattle Key Arena - June 6
Denver Pepsi Center - June 9
Las Vegas MGM Garden Arena - June 15
Bonnaroo Festival - June 16
Phoenix US Airwaves Arena - June 18
Dallas American Airlines Center - June 26
New Orleans Arena - June 30
St Louis Scottrade Center - July 2
Toronto Air Canada Center - July 22
Montreal Bell Centre - July 25
Boston Fenway Park - July 28
New York Madison Square Garden - August 1& 3

Plus look at all those open dates! Does Live Nation not have any faith in the trio? And why don't they know when most of these shows will go on sale?

Is everyone high over at the Police camp?

First they used a backing track at the Grammys and now they come with this weak shit. As much as we love and look forward to the Police tour, we wonder why they rushed to announce their dates mere hours after the Grammys when they, infact, had very little news to give us?

Am I the only one who thought the grammy performance wasn't any good. I thought Sting was trying to steer the whole thing and it threw the others off.

It ought to be an interesting tour. I can feel arenas and cities being leaned on heavily for big $$$

Stuart was amazing to watch (no surprise). Andy and Sting are both very good... but somehow it felt disconnected and flat. I hope Sting will be able get out of his own way and let this truly become a POLICE reunion/tour.

What are you all poo pooin' about? Sure their Grammy performance was a little ruff around the edges... a little flat.... felt disconnected. They havent played together in 25 years! All i know is, all my Police albums are out and spinning again (that's albums, not cd's mind you. I'm talkin' VINYL baby!) Hell, i even pulled out my sleeveless Synchronicity Tour T-shirt (fits a little tighter than i remember) and can not WAIT to wear it to their show. By the time they get around close enough to my neck of the woods, does anyone think they might be warmed up a little? I have a hunch they'll find their groove.
