STATEMENT FROM CHURCH OF SCIENTOLOGY INTERNATIONAL "This is completely, totally and utterly a lie and a total fabrication and has no basis in the theology of Scientology in the slightest. There is no scriptural background for anyone inside or outside of the Church to come up with such a concept. As well, Mr. Miscavige has never and would never characterize any church member or anyone related to Scientology in such terms nor has or would Mr. Cruise characterize himself as such. "As well Scientology is a world wide religious organization made up of over 7500 churches, missions and groups, in 163 countries and over ten million members and while the Scientology religion was founded by one man, L. Ron Hubbard, he himself insisted that he was just a man. He was the founder and there will only ever be one founder. He was not a prophet, nor ishe deified in any way, nor would anyone else be. "The Church has the largest non-governmental anti-drug program in the world, the world's largest human rights education campaign, the largest private tutoring and literacy network in the world, the largest global emergency response force with over 95,000 strong and has grown more in the last five years than the previous 50 combined. "Mr. Cruise's support of such humanitarian endeavors is widely known as well as the support given to such programs by millions of Scientologists and non Scientologists alike from all walks of life and diverse socio-economic backgrounds. "However, despite all this when an utterly fabricated story can be propagated in an effort to marginalize Scientology or make Scientology, its leaders or its members seem strange then you know how low the press has gotten to in order to come up with a story. "Again this story has no basis in reality whatsoever."

Say what you like, but Jesus never lost his buddy after a flat spin, had to gouge out his own eyes or had to suffer the occupation of a invading force with superior arms and tactics - the Romans do NOT compare to the Martians. Christians should walk in Tom's shoes for a while and learn a little about sacrifice.

As much as I enjoy Tom Cruise as an actor, please don't start making such ridiculous comparisons between an 'ordinary' man to Jesus Christ. Tom is a great actor but I really think he needs to keep his opinions just that...no body needs to have this Scientilogy thing thrown in their face all the time. A little advice to Tom Cruise.....keep your views of your so called religion to yourself!

Hey Greg , how are all those people in Banda Aceh doing? Why did you have to get food from them and tents from the army? Does'nt sceintology have 150 million in gold bullion in a bank in Luxembourg? Do you really need to leech of the tsunami victims?

I’m writing you to ask for your help. The story you ran today, based on a “report” by one of England’s worst tabloids “The Sun”, is 100% false. It is also harmful, libelous and foments incorrect notions about my religion Scientology so as to cause strife and intolerance. I need your help to set the record straight. In actual fact, nobody within the Church of Scientology considers themselves to be “Christ-like” – this would be a very inappropriate and arrogant comment and I’m sure you can see how this is being used only to antagonize Christians everywhere. We Scientologists appreciate Tom Cruise’s efforts as a spokesperson of many of our Church’s initiatives. But he’s just an actor, holds no rank within our Church, and is by NO MEANS a “prophet” – and I am certain he himself would be embarrassed at the thought. If you think about it, standing on a couch is not *that* big a deal. The fact is that the drug companies have engaged in a whisper campaign of character assassination on this actor. And with good reason: since Cruise spoke out, sales of Ritalin are down 21% in USA, sales of Paxil are now banned in the UK by the UK FDA, and the U.S. FDA requires blackbox labels on all antidepressants.
