Henry D-
I grew up eating YogenFruz in Toronto! If I recall correctly, there you'd watch them drop a "brick" of "yogurt" into the machine and then it would get compressed and squeezed out. It had a distinct gritty texture and a fuller flavor than Pinkberry, which I thought about as comparison when I tried the Pinkberry. Funny you brought that up.

Since Pinkberry was founded by a Korean, the Koreatown businesses caught wind of Pinkberry's success and now the same yogurt is available at roughly one outlet per block.

Pinkberry's hype is simple. It was P.T. Barnum who said, "Nothing draws a crowd like a crowd."

Good assessment Lindsay. The frozen yogurt is more on the water-based side than milk. The quality of the fruit is really good though.

Back up in Canada they have a similar chain called Yogen-Fruz, which is awesome.

Pinkberry is kind of like the Sanrio of frozen yogurt. That's the main attraction I think.
