Marvin Gaye singing the Star Spangled Banner

Every morning at 6am we will be posting a video of someone singing or playing the "Star Spangled Banner".

Back in the day television stations would end their "broadcast day" with an instrumental of the National Anthem accompanied by video of classic cars being policed, and olde fashioned barber showp, the Liberty Bell, and buffaloes running in slow motion.

When the song was over, the screen would flicker and a test pattern would appear, followed by a steady, high-pitched tone, waking you up if you had fallen asleep with your clothes on in front of the tv. Again. Stoner.

The Internet, though, never goes to sleep, it only gets regulated and taxed.

But when you wake up to it, you should have some music to groove to.

This morning we bring you Marvin Gaye singing the anthem better than anyone from the 1983 NBA All-Star game from the Fabulous Forum.
