PETA's State of the Union (NSFW)
PETA has a very difficult trick to pull off. They have to try to convince men to stop eating at KFC, buying leather jackets, or barbecuing meat - for starters.
While we don't always get the connection between Pamela Anderson posing nude in the window of a NYC department store, we appreciate the effort.
Here PETA gets us to listen to several minutes of their past accomplishments and they even figured out a way to sneak in some images of abused and suffering animals.
Maybe if this young lady was at our local Zankou Chicken right before we ordered a whole chicken, extra garlic paste please, we would think twice about completely altering our way of life.
And if she knew a little about sports we might even consider giving up meat one whole day a week.

PETA is so funny! I did watch the video after this gal, and it was pretty amazing... I also checked out the video they're plugging on the official version of this thing, www.Meat.org. Wow. I think I'm not going to eat meat again...

I always wondered why these peta peeps are so crazy. It's because they've spent hours watching all that footage of abused puppies and kittens and even those ugly little fucking chickens. It's enough to make me wanna throw paint, too.
I don't see why we can't continue to eat meat yet demand the meat industries do things a hell of a lot more humanely.

PETA is probably the most media savvy non-profit out there. As a proud parent of a 100% spoiled border collie/spanial mix, I totally support what they are doing. If someone did to my dog the kinds of abuses shown at the end of this video, they would get thrown in jail (I would make sure of it). It is messed up that some animals can be abused b/c it is profitable (ie, the stuff you see on www.PETA.org). It should all be illegal. And yes, even abuse against chickens should be illegal (hello? they have nerves like any other animal, cowboy!).

This past weekend was one of the most exciting weekends in football this season; the season definitely was extremely interesting. But it all came down to this past weekend, Chicago against the Saints and Colts against the Patriots. Chicago was definitely the favored team, they had home field advantage and they were playing a team that’s used to playing in a dome not outside in the cold so there was no surprise there that they are heading off to the Super bowl. The Colts and the Patriots though, that was one tough game. Two of the best teams in the NFL, sure before that game the Colts had beat the Patriots already but these were the playoffs, the time where the Patriots always manage to kick ass lets face it, they are the biggest playoff team around. So when it was half time I wasn’t surprised that the Patriots were ahead but I didn’t expect that after half time the game would continue to be tied all night. The offense on both teams were amazing, you could tell by the total points of the game, but man, who would have thought that the Patriots defense would have turned so sour after an amazing first half! The Patriots were the better team and should have won, but I guess it’s nice that Peyton Manning won’t be another Dan Moreno; we all know Peyton will be getting his ring this year. Lets face it there is no way the Bears can beat the Colts. Their offense isn’t that great, and yeah they have a pretty good defense but it’s not strong enough against the Colt’s offense, and the Bear’s offense? Don’t get me started on how overrated Rex Grossman is. I know they have the better record for the year but you look at the teams that they won against and it’s not surprising that they won. Rex Grossman can’t lead his team to victory against the Colts, Peyton and the rest of the offensive team are just too good.
Well what about NASCAR want to talk about NASCAR? I am looking forward to this year’s season. It should be quite an interesting time for NASCAR as it welcomes stars from other racing leagues into the series. I do think Juan Pablo Montoya will do well with Ganasi racing. My favorit driver Dale Jr needs to step to the front and show the public he can perform as the public expects. He needs to get the tif between himself and Teresa Earnhardt along with his pending contract extension behind him and concentrate on a championship.
My hockey team the Detroit Red Wings is holding down second place in their division behind the Nashville Predators. The goaltending of Hasek has been amazing for a 41 year old who came out of retirement. Hopefully they will perform a little better in the playoffs this year. Last year was a disappointment as they won the Presidents trophy for best record in the league only to choke in the playoffs.
May not be a lot, but I definitely think its at least a little.
