Go Green!
When you think of going green, you usually think of hybrids, recycling, freedom of speech, and other tree-hugging hippie activities. But no worries, we’re not going to change that!
If you’re not quite ready to single-handedly save a rainforest, we’ve found an easier way for you to go green. Every Monday night from 9pm to midnight in the Palmer Room, Green brings you a much-needed dose of free speech by some of the most talented poets, musician, and comics to hit the LA scene and beyond. With three minutes of glory, readers delve into the beauty and truths of life. Poets that are brilliant enough to woo the Green judges during Slams can go on to join Gang Green in the National Poetry Slam. Regulars and newbies are welcomed to make themselves heard, and are accompanied by features like D-Knowledge, Mike McGee, and Katie Wirsing and Andrea Gibson.
If that’s not enough to make you feel all green inside, DJ Jedi and DJ Mike Check entice your senses with a mix of hip hop, rock, electronica, and everything in between. Poet and co-hosts Ratpack Slim pumps up the audience along side his beat-boxing partner in crime, Joshua Sliverstein.
Go Green every Monday in the Palmer Room (in the back of La Cucina Paradiso), located at 3387 Motor Ave, Los Angeles, from 9pm to midnight. Oh, and did we mention, its free!
