Carrie Is So Very
Back in the days when headbands were de rigeur and Jazzercise was going to save us all, some demented genius decided to turn Carrie the classic Brian DePalma horror movie into Carrie, the Debbie Allen-choreographed Broadway musical. The result is an unholy mash-up that's like Grease meets Xanadu in a suburban high school musical.
I could spend my time making fun of Carrie: The Musical, but instead I'm going to let Joel Siegel do it for me.
According to this article, on opening night of the musical as both Carrie and her mother lay dying at the end of the show, "the entire theater began to boo. Then, as the actors stood to flee the stage, the boos transformed into a standing ovation."
