Who is YOUR favorite Corey?

The Coreys corey haim corey feldman

Yesterday, as I was perusing my usual celebrity gossip websites in hopes of avoiding any productive work, I came across a blurb that stopped me dead in my tracks. Sure, I’ve heard the rumors, but here it was in writing, in actual print. I know gossip sites aren’t the most reliable sources, but just go with me here. It is true. The Coreys are going to be starring in a new show together -- and by “The Coreys”, I am of course referring to Corey Feldman and Corey Haim, the eighties teen icons and dreamboats and whom I believe and have ALWAYS believed were the most underrated actors of their generation. My heart skipped a beat as my memories of my Coreys came flooding back.

I love how I share a name (and a spelling) with them. As a kid, this gave me much more street credit, I know it did. I felt a bond with The Coreys, and imagined being cast in one of their movies as the third Corey, the girl Corey, and then I would of course marry Corey Haim and we’d be Mr. and Mrs. Corey and Corey Haim. Same with Feldman. Just depended on my mood.

Unfortunately, we all know what happened. The eighties came to a close, as did their acting careers. With Feldman’s recent turn on VH1’s "The Surreal Life", and Haim’s bloated and drug-addled E! Entertainment interview a few years back, my hopes of a Corey reunion were crushed. The trauma of all of that aside, my heart is warmed by the news of a Corey comeback. It almost sounds too good to be true -- if Flavor Flav can command the highest ratings a VH1 show has ever had, isn’t there hope for the Coreys? I know I’ll be tuning in to answer these burning questions, and yes, I’m going to say it -- I’m on Team Corey. I’m rooting for them, not just 'cause they made my name cool, but because despite their stigma -- they’re talented. Way more talented and charming than the Chad Michael Murrays of today. So I for one welcome them back with open arms, and hope that the phrase “Who's YOUR favorite Corey?” becomes part of our everyday jargon once again.

The show will be airing on A&E.

that Corey Haim E! thing was disturbing!

Corey Haim. He taught me not to masquerade with a guy in shades. Oh, no.

That should be Corey HART, not Haim. Curses.

I love the Coreys

My favourite Corey is the haimster, he is so hot!!!

Big second on that motion to include Corey Hart. He even had an album called Boy In A Box long before JT brought us Dick In A Box.
