LAst Night's Action: David Beckham Richer Than You

Now that the MLS allows advertising on jerseys, they can afford this guy.David Beckham $250,000,000, Hollywood 2 - There had been rumblings for awhile, but nobody expected it to happen like this. International mega-ultra-super-ginorma star David Beckham has agreed to a five year deal to play soccer for the Los Angeles Galaxy. He will get paid over a quarter of a billion dollars, most of which will come from advertising and merchandising. Beckham currently has a soccer academy at the Home Depot Center in Carson (where the Galaxy play) and his wife Victoria (a/k/a Posh Spice) was mansion shopping in town a few weeks ago. She was wearing a delicious strapped... uh oh! They've done it already! The Becks are turning LAist Sports into a gossip rag! At least Hollywood gets two new stars to gush over.

Sharks 5, Kings 2 - After a quiet but sound loss to San Jose, Kings coach Marc Crawford had some ominous words: "I didn't find too many things to praise our club about. We're sorting through the guys that won't do the things we need to have them do, and they won't be here. That's the way it will be, plain and simple. You'll figure out who those guys are, because they'll be gone." That about sums it up.

Ducks 5, Stars 1 - Teemu Selanne exploded for his first hat trick in six years and backup goalie Ilya Bryzgalov only needed 17 saves for the Ducks to dispatch their division rival. Dallas struggled with a number of key injuries, which is also a familiar story in Anaheim. While they've struggled as of late, the Ducks reclaimed the best record in the NHL.

Elsewhere - Don't gamble ... don't do drugs ... and don't forget to wear clean underwear.
