That Pizza Will Cost You 100 Pesos

The Texas-based Pizza Patron chain is now accepting the Mexican peso (bills only) at all of its 59 locations in the U.S. This monetary trial run is slated to end in February, but may be extended if it all works out.

According to the Dallas Morning News:

Using cards listing the conversion calculations, cashiers will enter the figure in U.S. dollars into the cash register and give the change in U.S. currency.

Great. Now cashiers who can barely count anyway will have the opportunity to screw up in another currency.

There's a Pizza Patron in Wilmington if you have a few pesos burning a hole in your pocket:

I have a hard time getting excited about this, when Canadians and Mexicans have been taking American currency in most places of business for years.

I think this is a great idea and the owner is a smart man. This is a great opportunity for the business to reach out to the new coming migrants from Mexico.
