LAst Night's Action: Cassell Key in Comeback

There's no crying in baseball. That's why Dwayne Roloson plays hockey.Clippers 100, Hornets 90 - Sam Cassell came back from injury in a big way, scoring 10 of his 31 points in the fourth quarter to bury New Orleans (currently playing in Oklahoma City). The healthy Clippers took advantage of a not-so-healthy Hornets, who were missing three starters and were swept on their four game home stand.

Oilers 2, Kings 1, OT - Los Angeles had an unexpected hero but Edmonton responded with one of their own to to defeat the Kings. Konstantin Pushkarev, playing in his third career game, tied the game for the Kings in the third period. Just 1:14 into overtime, rookie Jan Hejda clinched it for the Oilers. It was the first career goal for both players.

Elsewhere - Florida shocked Ohio State 41-14 in the BCS Championship Game, while USC finished #4 and looks like a good pick for #1 next year ... Still no major updates on the death of USC's Mario Danelo, thought it looks like it wasn't a homicide or suicide. The corner says it could take several weeks until they know more ... UCLA hoops fell to #3 in the nation after loosing this weekend. On Saturday they cross town to face USC for their first ever meeting at the new Galen Center. LAist predicts a barn burner.
