It's the beginning of the year and we haven't even cracked a new book. Have you? Instead of feeling guilty for sitting on your lazy duff, go check out a reading. It's free, it's easy -- and they'll read to you! All you have to do is show up, sit back and heckle when the mood strikes. Actually, heckling during a reading is really kind of lame. That's more for Laugh Factory types. If you must heckle, have at it, but we don't recommend it. A few events for your slacker reading pleasure:
- Wednesday, 7pm -- Book Soup -- Albyn Leah Hall presents & signs The Rhythm of the Road (get your rhythm on)
- Thursday, 7:30m -- Village Books -- Peter Dunne signs Emotional Structure: Creating the Story Beneath The Plot: A Guide For Screenwriters (get your plot on)
- Friday, 7pm -- Vroman’s Bookstore – Harry Shearer, SNL alumnus, presents & signs Not Enough Indians (get your funny on)
- Saturday, 4pm -- Metropolis Books -- Dorothy Parker Gin & Tonic Poetry Reading (yes, there will be drinks, but you can't get your gin on)
- Sunday, 8pm -- Formosa Cafe -- Los Feliz Poetry Slam (when all else fails, get your slam on)
