That film the Beastie Boys adoringly spoofed for this video is the campy 1968 Euro spy movie Danger Diabolik, and it's playing at The New Beverly tonight and tomorrow.
Danger Diabolik - If being a super villain really was all about dashing around the globe in the coolest mod clothes and sleekest sports cars while staging elaborate jewel heists before returning to your posh, super-secret lair to shag your blonde accomplice, this movie is what it would look like. Based on an Italian comic book character and directed by horror maven Mario Bava, Danger Diabolik stars John Phillip Law and Marisa Mell in a comic book-esque gem of a movie made. Nearly 40 years after it was made the film's costumes and production design remain as eye-poppingly gorgeous and over-the-top as ever.

Age Of Consent - Helen Mirren plays a nubile sex kitten in one of her earliest roles. Directed by Michael Powell (of Powell & Pressburger) this 1969 film stars James Mason as a crotchety artist who begins an affair with a comely teenager while vacationing on an exotic island. It plays as the second half of a double-bill with Cal, a 1984 movie about an IRA operative (John Lynch) who starts an affair with the widow (Mirren) of a man he helped kill.
