Just days after winning the Rose Bowl, USC kicker Mario Danelo was found dead at the bottom of a cliff in San Pedro. Internet message boards are flooded with rumors, but there has been very little confirmed at this time. His body was found around 4:30pm on Saturday.
Danelo had some major ups and downs this week. On Monday, he hit two key field goals to help USC win the Rose Bowl against Michigan. In the same game, he missed two important PATs that allowed the Wolverines to stay in contention (of course, the points were irrelevant after the final whistle). Despite being relatively unknown on the national stage, he was used as the number one joke on Letterman's Top 10 List on Thursday.
The redshirt junior led the Trojans in scoring this year with 89 points, and set NCAA records in 2005 with 83 PATs made and 86 PATs attempted. He had one more year of football eligibility
