My niece grew up with that USC kicker. She doesn't seem to think it's suicide....
Either way, it's pretty sad...
Re: The NY film production story, my "anger" goes the other way: I can't stand when friends watch shows like Heroes and longingly comment that they wish to be in NYC. "Isn't the architecture great? Look at all the people."
