Ducks 68, Bruins 66 - UCLA men's hoops dropped their first game of the year and likely fell out of the nation's top ranking for the first time in several weeks. A previously undefeated Oregon squad was coming off an upset loss to USC, and pulled an upset of their own in Eugene. For more on the game, check out Henry's post.
Trojans 91, Beavers 46 - Perhaps avenging the Trojan's football loss a few months ago, USC routed Oregon State in basketball thanks to Lodrick Stewart's career high 28 points. The Beavers shot only 31% compared to 66% for the Trojans.
Kings 4, Red Wings 2 - Los Angeles ended a 12 game loosing streak to Detroit on 32 saves by Mathieu Garon.
Hawks 86, Clippers 74 - Atlanta ended two ugly loosing streaks at once (eight straight games overall and six at home) by beating the Clippers in a defense battle. Only two players from Los Angeles scored in the final quarter, and the team only had 36 points in the first half.
Elsewhere - The Orange County Marathon is on Sunday ... The LA Sports Council is inviting you to vote for the top moments in local sports in 2006. Polls are open for two more days. The top moment has gone to USC football the past 3 years, and college football in general for the past 8 years. With the Trojan's losses to Texas and UCLA, it's doubtful they'll keep their streak alive.
