LA's Worst Persons in the World

It was hard enough to support the Engineers and Architects Assn. who went on a two-day strike last summer, but since we're pro-union we silently backed them despite the fact that their average union member gets paid $74,500 a year, and therefore doesn't really need our help.

But while reading LA Observed this afternoon we were directed to an allegation that two high ranking union members intentionally fucked with four intersections right before the strike was to begin.

Gabriel Murillo, 37, and Kartik Patel, 34, allegedly rigged computers to disconnect signal lights at Sky Way at World Way at Los Angeles International Airport, Coldwater Canyon Avenue at Riverside Drive in Studio City, Glendale Boulevard at Berkeley Avenue in Echo Park, and 1st and Alameda streets in Little Tokyo.

According to prosecutors, the pair changed computer codes to prevent transportation managers from reprogramming and reactivating the traffic lights for four days. - LAT
