Schwarzenegger begins his Second Term

Today everyone's second favorite movie-star turned governor of California was sworn in to office for his second first-and-a-half term as California government. Among controversy that he did not make appearances as scheduled in the last couple weeks because of his injury and a cavalcade of performers, speakers, and more balloons than one could shake a stick at, Arnold Schwarzenegger is once again officially the governor of the great state of California.

NBC more than once referred to the re-election of Shwarzenegger as "The Sequel" and this just makes us die a little bit inside. We hope that they don't latch on to this as much as the media did with "The Governator" but knowing NBC's "top-notch" reporting, they'll keep on saying it until well into this term.

That being said, we're slightly confused if this term is Schwarzenegger's last in office, or if he can run again in 2010 (Does that year scare anyone else?). In an attempt to clear this up for our wonderful readers, we've looked this up in the California Constitution and can't find any specific language regarding a governor who served a shortened term first. Then again, the language in the CA constitution is confusing and leaves us feeling a bit confused. Any readers know the law on this?

If it's possible for Schwarzenegger to run for a third term we're going to put into writing that we're the first to refer to it as his "Trilogy of Gubenatorial Service" so the networks can't use it.
