The Age of Digg Justice

vette.jpgWhen Mr. Williams took his new Corvette into a Nor Cal dealership for a simple antenna repair, he had the foresight to imagine an employee taking his whip on a speedy joyride. For that reason, he instructed the dealer not to drive his Vette off the lot. Well one employee did anyway. And not only that, he spun it out on a turn at high speed while doped up on Codeine, causing over $15,000 in damage.

To add insult to injury, “the dealer is refusing to replace the car or compensate me for the lost value on resale”. So Mr. Williams took it upon himself to post the dealer’s name and phone number as well as corporate information on corvetteforum.com. Readers have been digging up the story this morning, and it has already hit the Top 10 on Digg.com

I can only imagine that with the massive traffic that this story is getting, corporate email at Chevy is getting bombarded with complaints over this fiasco (probably phones too). There's no doubt the corporate office will subsequently be sending a massive shit-storm down on the dealership in question who will be forced to take action.

Are we living in the age of Digg Justice? Perhaps, but what if this story is false and this is all just an elaborate lie from an unruly customer, aimed to inflict as much damage as possible to his local dealership?

Then it wouldn't be justice at all, it would actually be quite the opposite.

UPDATE: According to Mr. Williams, the dealer will now replace his Vette with a new one. Justice!!
