Dont' think I'm not listening, Peggy/Huck. I've checked out both sites, and while I can't get Terra to load on my old machine (I refuse to update my computer - I'm a bit of an anti-techie in that regard), it looks promising as hell. Peggy's info on furniture is spot-on and more important than one might think, considering the sheer mass of wooden (and other) furniture that exists. Furniture purchasing decisions make a huge impact on our envirnoment and are not to be taken lightly (no reclaimed balsa wood-implied pun intended)

Thanks for the great list, Tod. I have a few favorites that may not make Top 10, but I thought you might want to read about them.

Two non-profits, The Rainforest Alliance and the Forest Stewardship Council are working to save the Rainforest through responsible, ethical and sustainable harvesting. Another new group, the Sustainable Furniture Council, is working to educate consumers about their power to save the rainforest through the purchase of certified wood products in furniture and construction supplies.

Did you know that up to 90% of today's high end imported furniture is made of illegally harvested wood from the Amazon and other endangered rainforests? I have some info about this on my blog:

Thanks for all your good work,

Best top ten list I've seen so far. But I like the angry people in LA list quite a lot.
