Tim Sullivan writes a weekly column for the San Francisco Chronicle. He says he still has no idea what it's about. He likes punk rock music and posting photos on Buzznet. And, according to this list, he likes Frisco over our beautiful paradise.
We can only wonder which is worse: not having a football team, or having two of the worst teams in all of football?

the collective zeitgeist outside of los angeles senses that LA is essentially everything from ventura/oxnard/santa barbara down to san clemente/oceanside/san diego ...
it's more or less sad, but true.
beyond all this, i'm very much on your side.

As a former Silicon Valley girl who now lives in (and loves) LA, I gotta comment that I really never see any Angeleno writing "why LA is better than Frisco." Why are San Franciscans so insecure that they always have to tell us how much better they are than us? It's rude, but more than that, it's a little sad. And yes, I called it Frisco. ha

oh - i do have to agree that sf has cooler hobos. walking down the street you're more likely to get some amusing "oh lordy lordy lordy wow!" than just a random tongue waggle.

11) The weather in LA cracks the 70 degree mark in the summer.
10) Nomar is way cooler than Barry Bonds.
9) Jonsey's Jukebox.
8) Snow-capped mountain backdrops.
7) You can swim in the ocean without a wetsuit.
6) People in SF spend half their time trash-talking LA. People in LA are having too much fun to care about SF.
5) Everything's cheaper in LA, especially apartments.
4) More cultures, more food choices, more everything.
3) The Egyptian, Chinese, Arclight, Crest, Rialto.....
2) We have the steepest street in California. (Fargo street.)

i'm from LA and I now live in SF...and it's true, many people here (but not all) love to bash LA...and i've come to realize that it's out of pure envy. SF is envious that LA has the attention, the people, the audience, the money, and, well, everything. Just think about it: when people say "California" what city comes to mind? LA of course because it's more dominant, more exciting, and well, just better. I find it hilarious whenever the topic comes up because SF is so caught up w/ LA that it makes itself look like a fool in the process. To LA, SF doesn't even exist. Once I'm done with this internship, I'm going back home where people are actually nice to look at :P i can't wait!
