Ducks 2, Thrashers 1 - Anaheim continues to look like the best team in hockey after winning their tenth game in the past eleven. Teemu Selanne tallied both goals, the second just a minute after Atlanta evened the score in the third period.
Mavericks 110, Lakers 101 - The Lakers lost in Dallas, falling half a game out of first place in the Pacific Division. Kobe Bryant had a game high 33, but Los Angeles wasn't the same after loosing Lamar Odom to a sprained knee in their last game. Three Mavericks had at least 23 points, as the team shot .600 from the field.
Jazz 105, Clippers 86 - Utah held onto the best record in the NBA and Jerry Sloan got victory number 1001. Los Angeles has lost three of their last four games by a combined margin of 70 points. It doesn't help that Sam Cassell and Corey Maggette are both out with injuries. At least coach Mike Dunleavy agreed to a multi-year deal before the game.
Elsewhere - LA Times discovers football players are fat ... Dodgers are raising the ticket prices, probably to pay for all the new guys ... Both USC and UCLA men's basketball teams will start Pac 10 action with two game between Christmas and New Years (each hosting both Washington and Washington State).
