Jet Played Spaceland And Guess Who Joined Them Onstage?

For all the email blasts that just annoy us and clutter our inbox, every once in a blue moon there is a gem. We jumped at the chance to see Jet at Spaceland, well maybe not jump, more like press the "confirm sale" button on Ticketweb at exactly 10AM, but you catch our drift.

And if we weren't excited enough, then we found out that Jet actually played their very first U.S. show at Spaceland back in 2003. So last night they were bundles of good energy. We would venture to say almost smiling (which for rockers is like crying in baseball) but it was apparent that they knew the distance they have come in those 3 years.

To see a band that big at such an intimate and small setting as Spaceland was absolutely fucking incredible. Jet performed half-acoustic styled songs from both their Get Born and Shine On CDs and sounded amazing. A few songs in, the Waters Sisters joined them onstage, who sang backup on Shine On. And we thought, "Oh that's nice, we like when guests come on stage." And THEN we made friends with the girl on our left who proceeded to confide in us that Slash (yes that Slash), Chris Robinson (yes that Chris Robinson) and Steve Jones (we heart Jonesy's Jukebox) were all going to go on stage too. THEN we turned around and saw Eva Mendes standing behind us. Died. And. Gone. To. Heaven.

As special guests go, those are pretty-pretty good. Their all-star jam session during their cover of The Faces' "Ooh La La" had the entire crowd in awe. Thus we heart Spaceland, and Jet for bringing their friends out with them to make a night that we won't be forgetting for a long time.

I must seriously be out of the loop because I have no idea who Jet are...

Slash does Volkswagon commercials and then appears on stage with Jet? All of a sudden...Axl is way cooler.

youve heard their beatle-meets-stones hits. odds are you probably thought it was the beatles or the stones.

I saw them at the Sunset Marquis bar Saturday night, those guys are fucking cool.
